ACEC Announces Strategic Addition and Staff Promotions 

New Director of Workforce Development & Public Visibility to Elevate Council’s Workforce Agenda 

Washington, DC — Today the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the business voice of America’s engineering industry, announced the expansion of its workforce efforts with a critical new hire, in addition to three promotions. 

Patrick Brady has joined ACEC as its new Director of Workforce Development & Public Visibility. With a proven record of accomplishment in workforce issues, Patrick joins ACEC from Amazon where he handled labor and workforce policy, with an emphasis on workforce issues at the state level. Before that, he managed state policy and grassroots for the Retail Industry Leaders Association, emphasizing workforce issues. He also served as the Director of Policy Engagement at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), where he engaged Congress and outside stakeholders on various labor, compensation, equity, and related issues. 

“As an organization, a primary focus for us is advancing the development of a resilient engineering workforce capable of completing the projects funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act, while fostering support for the industry’s future growth,” said ACEC president and CEO Linda Bauer Darr. “Patrick brings a distinctive skill set that positions ACEC to elevate its workforce agenda and highlight the industry’s prowess, notably through initiatives like the Engineering and Public Works Roadshow.” 

In addition to hiring Patrick Brady, ACEC is also pleased to announce three internal promotions in its Communications and Marketing Department: 

Chris Grindler has been promoted to senior director of marketing.  

Andrea Keeney has been promoted to executive editor. 

Allison Schneider has been promoted to senior director of communications.
